Statement of Debra A. Draper, Director, Health Care, of the Government Accounting Office (GAO), citing the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that administers the 340B program, stated, in part, “the purpose of the program is to enable covered entities to stretch scarce federal resources to reach more eligible patients, and provide more comprehensive services”.
